Make them Laugh

If you can make them laugh, you can teach them. There have been many times in my past where I have used the art of getting a chuckle from those who I am teaching. It helps to cement a point in their minds. I also helps when the joke is a little off-color and a little naughty. Trying to elucidate the finer points of putting a tire back on your car? Use the word ‘screw’ in a way that makes everyone giggle like a kid. Trying to teach your staff how to properly fill a bag with bugers in your local restaurant? Tell ’em you’re gonna stuff the bag like your date on prom. What can I say? I like words.

Gets them everytime.

But, then again there is a bit of blowback that gat hit you when you try this method of teaching. Sometimes you come across a few of those who don’t like that kind of humor. That’s fine. Acting like you’re taken aback and using the time to over-explain a joke until it becomes painfully uncomfortable can hit them in the funny bone, too.

I’m telling you, if you make them laugh, you can make them learn.
